Tetris Effect is released

Tetris Effect is a tile-matching puzzle video game developed by Japanese studio Resonair and published by Enhance, Inc. The game was announced immediately prior to the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2018, and is set to be released on PlayStation 4.

"The Grinch" is released in the US

The Grinch is an American 3D computer-animated Christmas movie produced by Illumination Entertainment. Based on the 1957 Dr. Seuss book How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, it is the third screen adaptation of the story, following the television special from 1966 and the live-action feature-length film from 2000.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is released

Call of Duty: Black Ops is a first-person shooter video game, developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. It was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii, with a separate version for Nintendo DS developed by n-Space. Set in the 1960s during the Cold War, the game's campaign follows CIA operative Alex Mason as he attempts to recall certain memories in combat in order to locate a numbers station.

Need for Speed: Underground 2 is released

Need for Speed: Underground 2 is a cross-platform racing video game and the 8th installment in the popular Need for Speed driving game series published and developed by Electronic Arts. It is the direct sequel to Need for Speed: Underground and is part of the Need for Speed series, available on Microsoft Windows, Game Boy Advance, GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS and mobile phones.

Halo 2 is released

Halo 2 is a first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie. Released for the Xbox video game console, the game is the second installment in the Halo franchise and the sequel to 2001's critically acclaimed Halo: Combat Evolved. The game features a new game engine, as well as using the Havok physics engine; added weapons and vehicles, and new multiplayer maps.

Zoo Tycoon 2 is released

Zoo Tycoon 2 is a video game developed by Blue Fang Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios and MacSoft. Originally released for Windows, Zoo Tycoon 2 is also available for Windows Mobile, PDA, and Mac OS X, although expansions are not included in the Mac version. The object of the game is to build and operate a zoo by creating exhibits and aquariums.

Video game Counter-Strike is released

Counter-Strike is a first-person shooter video game developed by Valve Corporation. It was initially developed and released as a Half-Life modification by Minh "Gooseman" Le and Jess Cliffe in 1999 before Le and Cliffe were hired and the game's intellectual property acquired. The game spawned a franchise and is the first installment in the Counter-Strike series. Several remakes and ports of Counter-Strike have been released on the Xbox console, as well as OS X and Linux.

The movie "A Nightmare on Elm Street" is first released

A Nightmare on Elm Street is an American slasher movie written and directed by Wes Craven and produced by Robert Shaye. The plot focuses on four teenagers who are invaded and killed in their dreams, thus killed in reality, by a burnt killer with a bladed glove. After the release, the movie grossed over $25 million at the US box office.
