WoW: Warlords of Draenor is released

World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor is the fifth expansion set to the massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft, following Mists of Pandaria. The expansion raised the existing level cap from 90 to 100 and introduced player-built, upgradeable garrisons. Most of the player models were updated to have more detailed textures, animations and facial expressions.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is released

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is a first-person shooter developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and the Xbox 360. Black Ops II is the 9th game in the Call of Duty franchise of video games, a sequel to the 2010 game Call of Duty: Black Ops and the first Call of Duty game for the Wii U.

WoW: Wrath of the Lich King is released

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King is the second expansion set for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game World of Warcraft, following The Burning Crusade. After its launch it sold 2.8 million copies within the 1st day, making it the fastest selling computer game of all time released at that point.

Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 is released

Medal of Honor Heroes 2 is a first-person shooter game for the Wii and the PlayStation Portable. It is the 12th installment in the long-running Medal of Honor series of World War II games. Each version was built from the ground up for its respective system. Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 is set in World War II, starting on the Normandy beaches trying to control German bunkers and then move on to secure a village in France.

Crysis is released

Crysis is a first-person shooter video game developed by Crytek and published by Electronic Arts for Microsoft Windows. It is the first game in the Crysis series. A separate game entitled Crysis Warhead was released and follows similar events as Crysis but from a different narrative perspective. At the time Crysis was released, and years thereafter, it has been praised for its milestones in graphical design.

Assassin's Creed is released

Assassin's Creed is an action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is the first installment in the Assassin's Creed series. The game was released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. Since the release and success of Assassin's Creed II, subsequent games have been released, with various other Assassins and time periods.

Rap artist Ol’ Dirty Bastard collapses and dies

ODB collapsed at approximately 4:35 pm, two days before his 36th birthday, at RZA's recording studio. The official cause of death was a drug overdose; an autopsy found a lethal mixture of cocaine and the prescription drug tramadol. The overdose was ruled accidental and witnesses say Ol' Dirty Bastard complained of chest pain on the day he died.

Eminem releases single "Lose Yourself"

"Lose Yourself" is a song by American rapper Eminem from the soundtrack to the motion picture 8 Mile. The song was written by Eminem and produced by Eminem along with longtime collaborator Jeff Bass, one half of the production duo Bass Brothers, and Luis Resto. It was released as the lead single from the soundtrack.

Shakira releases album "Laundry Service"

Laundry Service is the 5th studio album by Colombian singer and songwriter Shakira, globally released by Epic Records. It is her first album to be primarily recorded in English. The title of the album was chosen to reflect Shakira's views on love and music.

"Toy Story 2" premieres in the US

Toy Story 2 is an American computer-animated comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. Directed by John Lasseter and co-directed by Lee Unkrich and Ash Brannon, it is the sequel to 1995's Toy Story. The film held its official premiere at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles.

"GoldenEye" is released

GoldenEye is the seventeenth spy film in the James Bond series to be produced by Eon Productions and the first to star Pierce Brosnan as the fictional MI6 officer James Bond. The film was directed by Martin Campbell and is the first in the series not to take story elements from the works of novelist Ian Fleming.

Walt Disney's animated musical "Fantasia" is first released

Fantasia was first released in theatrical roadshow engagements held in 13 U.S. cities in 1940. While acclaimed by critics, it was unable to make a profit due to WW II cutting off distribution to the EU market, the film's high production costs, and the expense of leasing theatres and installing the Fantasound equipment for the roadshow presentations.
