Lionel Messi makes his official debut for FC Barcelona

Lionel Messi, aged 16 years, four months, and 23 days old, made debut in a friendly match against Jose Mourinho's Porto and he was already turning out for the Barcelona 'B' team in no time. A single training session with the first-team squad let the great Ronaldinho to believe that Messi would surpass him. On 16 October 2004, Messi made his first-team bow. In an away derby against Catalan rivals Espanyol.

José Canseco was awarded the American League's Most Valuable Player title with a .307 batting average, 120 runs scored, 124 RBIs, 42 home runs, and 40 stolen bases. That year he also became the 1st player in MLB history to hit 40 home runs and steal 40 bases in a single season.

Notre Dame ends Oklahoma 47-game winning streak

Notre Dame defeated Oklahoma 7-0 and ended its 47-game and 1,512-day college football winning streak. It was also the first time in more than 120 games that Oklahoma didn't score a single point. The fans of Oklahoma got very sad, some even cried.
