Spanish king ratifies Spain’s first democratic constitution

The Spanish Constitution was signed by King Juan Carlos I in a ceremony in the presence of parliamentarians. It was signed after the country's constitutional referendum, in which 91.81% of voters supported the new constitution. It marked Spain's transition to democracy after the Francoist regime.
